Information on reporting possible misconduct to Caritas Germany

Any person who has serious indications or a reasonable suspicion of misconduct against people working for Caritas Germany or their project partners can get in touch with us.

Who can report misconduct?

Caritas Germany asks every person to report misconduct.

If you are an employee of a Caritas Germany project partner, you are obliged to report misconduct to Caritas Germany.

Why should I report misconduct?

Misconduct such as sexual abuse destroys lives. Fraud and corruption puts lives at risk by failing to deliver vital aid to people in need. By reporting misconduct now, you can help to prevent further harm!

Whom can I report to?

Please report misconduct by persons who work or have worked for project partners of Caritas Germany to the Integrity Management Officer of Caritas Germany by using the reporting form below. Alternatively, you can also contact the Integrity Management Officer by email at integrity@caritas.de

Please report misconduct by persons who work or have worked for Caritas Germany (employees, professionals, interns, volunteers and consultants) to the Ombudsperson of Caritas Germany at whistleblower@caritas.de

What can I report with the Reporting form?

With the reporting-form you can report misconduct against people working for Caritas Germany or their project partners.

Misconduct is any form of abuse of power, especially sexual abuse, exploitation and harassment, discrimination and other violations of transgression as well as intentional misuse of funds such as fraud and corruption and non-compliance with humanitarian principles.

It is enough that you have observed misconduct yourself or that someone has credibly told you about it.

Please do not try to confrontation with the parties involved, but seek help by reporting to us.

What is the procedure?

After you have submitted the reporting form online, the Integrity Management Team at Caritas Germany will try to contact you. If the report is against people working for Caritas Germany the report will be processed by the neutral Ombudsperson of Caritas Germany. If the report is against people working for the project partners of Caritas Germany the report will be processed by the Integrity Management Team of Caritas Germany. In both cases we clarify questions and assess the report and the risks. We then decide whether and how the persons can be helped and how the allegation can be investigated. If the allegation is confirmed, we take the action required.

Is my report confidential?

Yes, your identity is treated confidentially. If you still want to stay anonymous, please provide us with information that can be checked. Otherwise, we will not be able to follow-up on your report.

To report any area of concern through the online form, please click the following button.
