Solidarity Worldwide

The International Department of Caritas Germany – within Germany called "Caritas international" – performs the international relief work of Germany’s largest Catholic welfare organisation.

Relief for People in Need Worldwide

The International Department of Caritas Germany provides disaster relief on a global scale together with a closely knit network of 162 independent national Catholic welfare associations. Mehr

Long-Term Disaster Aid

Wherever there are wars, earthquakes, epidemics, floods or storms, Caritas Germany helps people who are affected by these disasters worldwide. We work closely with local Caritas organisations to provide the best relief possible for each situation. Mehr

A worldwide band of solidarity in refugee relief

Caritas is a global, cross-border solidarity movement, and this is most apparent in its refugee relief. Caritas supports people in flight in their local regions, in neighbouring and transit countries and in Germany. Mehr

Transparency Creates Trust

Caritas Germany was awarded the German Central Institute for Social Affairs (DZI) seal of approval for donations. In 2017, our administration and publicity costs amounted to 8.3 %. This is ranked as low – the best DZI ranking. Mehr

How we combat fraud and corruption

Corruption is not only a moral problem but also an economic problem. Therefore Caritas Germany has developed these Anticorruption Guidelines with the aim of avoiding and fighting fraud and corruption at all levels within Germany and abroad. Mehr

Children and Vulnerable Adults Safeguarding Policy

Caritas strongly condemns all kinds of abuse and sexual exploitation, especially towards its beneficiaries. All staff members are expected to uphold the dignity of beneficiaries served by Caritas organisations by ensuring that their personal and professional conduct is of the highest standard at all times.
